Dunbar Music Festival
Music once again takes centre stage in Dunbar this September for the much‑loved Dunbar Music Festival, a longstanding town‑wide celebration of live music in venues across the seaside community. Since its beginnings in 1988, the festival has grown from a traditional folk event into a vibrant, diverse programme of live sound, bringing together local talent and visiting artists across genres and styles. Over the festival weekend, venues throughout Dunbar buzz with performances, ranging from traditional folk and jazz to pipe bands, world music, jazz, classical and more. There are free gigs, ticketed concerts, pop‑ups around town, and a warm atmosphere that welcomes music lovers of all ages. The Harbour Chapel will once again be one of the festival’s host venues, featuring live music throughout the weekend alongside many of Dunbar’s pubs, halls and outdoor spaces. While we’re still waiting on the official 2026 lineup, you can expect a fantastic variety of performances, from classical and choral music to jazz, folk and beyond. Full details will be announced in the coming months. Whether you’re planning your festival weekend or simply love discovering live music in great company, this is a highlight of Dunbar’s cultural calendar you won’t want to miss.
