Join us for 45 minutes of birdwatching by the coast to find out more about the birds that share our shores.
Join our Conservation Officer for a family-friendly outdoor session identifying the wonderful wild coastal birds that can be spotted on Scotland's shores over the autumn period. We'll focus on any birds we spot whilst scanning the shore, but may discuss many more that you’re likely to see locally in and around North Berwick.
Whether you’re new to the area, new to birdwatching, or you just want an opportunity to chat about the birds you have seen nearby, everyone is welcome to ask questions, share their knowledge and experiences, or simply relax and learn something new.
This event is free but please book a space for all attendees as binoculars are limited.
The session will take place outside, close to the Scottish Seabird Centre. We'll enjoy a short outdoor venture, with the route varying depending on what we can see and the particular interests of the participants. We may spend some time on the sandy beach of Milsey Bay or wandering along the walkway taking us around the harbour walls.
Binoculars, ID sheets, alcohol hand-gel (if needed).
Sturdy boots or shoes, clothing appropriate for the weather outside, a drink, any medication you may need, a mobile phone, sun protection (good weather days).
The route includes some steps, gentle slopes, soft/uneven sand, rocky ground, and slippery surfaces. We will always try to adjust the pace and the route to make sure that everyone is comfortable, but please let us know in advance if you have questions or concerns. You can direct queries to emmam@seabird.org.
As this is an outdoor event, it may be cancelled at short notice due to bad weather. If this event is cancelled, we will get in touch with you the day before to let you know. On rare occasions, we may be in touch on the day of the event. Please keep an eye on your emails prior to the event. You will be refunded.
