Chamber music concert featuring Mozart, Vaughan Williams, and contemporary works.
Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective II – Mozart Piano Concerto No 12: performed by Savitri Grier (Violin), Amarins Wierdsma (Violin), Edgar Francis (Viola), Laura van der Heijden (Cello), Will Duerden (Double bass), Tom Poster (Piano) playing Tabakova; Insight for string trio; Vaughan Williams; Piano Quintet in C minor; Wiancko; American Haiku for viola and cello; Mozart; Piano Concerto No 12 in A major K414 at Prestonkirk Parish Church, East Linton on Fri 11 Sept 3pm as part of the Lammermuir Festival. Kaleidoscope's second programme ends with an especially tuneful addition to our Mozart concerto survey - the charming and sunny No 12 in A played by Tom Poster with string quintet accompaniment, as was common in Mozart's day. Vaughan Williams suppressed his Brahmsian Piano Quintet (1903) after its early performances. In 1999, luckily, it was rediscovered and a major work added to the RVW canon.
