Exhibition exploring symphonic piece Sula bassana and East Lothian coastal wildlife imagery.
Come along and join us for this specially curated exhibition on LOVE OF LIFE and its connection to the wildlife on our coastline. Featuring a closer look at Erland Cooper's new symphonic piece, Sula bassana, and an exhibition of images taken as part of the ‘making of’ his composition.
Open from 10am-5pm daily and free to visit with a suggested £5 donation to our Charity.
This exhibition explores a series of interwoven commissions by Fringe by the Sea for LOVE OF LIFE and how the East Lothian coastline and its nature inspired the pieces:
Sula bassana, a symphonic meditation on North Berwick, the Firth of Forth, the Air, the Sea and the Land, by composer Erland Cooper.
Lewis Gourlay presents an immersive visual response to the music, inspired by the Bass Rock and surrounding landscapes.
The Nest, created by Naomi Mcintosh is a sonic sculpture threaded with elements of Erland’s composition, inviting you to pause and consider connection, resilience and wonder.
This exhibition is presented in partnership with Fringe by the Sea. LOVE OF LIFE is commissioned by Fringe by the Sea in collaboration with Kelburn Garden Party, and supported by The Scottish Government’s Expanded Festivals Fund through Creative Scotland. With support from the Scottish Seabird Centre and North Berwick Trust.
