Free retrospective of Dunbar artist LesleyMay Miller across sculpture, painting, print, poetry and artist's books at Dunbar Town House Museum & Gallery.
Making Waves celebrates the extraordinary creative life of Dunbar resident LesleyMay Miller (b.1934), bringing together decades of work across sculpture, painting, photography, printmaking, poetry and artist's books.
A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art at the University of Edinburgh, Miller has spent a lifetime experimenting with different media, drawing inspiration from nature, cultures around the world and her extensive travels, including a cycling journey to India in 1982.
The retrospective includes ceramic sculpture, paintings, prints, etchings, poetry and handmade artist's books, offering a broad look at Miller's distinctive and eclectic body of work.
At the heart of the exhibition is a powerful handmade book commemorating the 1919 HMY Iolaire disaster, when the naval yacht sank off Stornoway. The work also inspired a short film, which will premiere as part of the exhibition.
Making Waves runs at Dunbar Town House Museum & Gallery from Saturday 15 August to Sunday 27 September 2026.
The gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday, 1pm-5pm. Admission is free.
