Self-guided tour: Newhailes House

Explore Newhailes House at your own pace on a self-guided tour, on the last Sunday of each month. The house transports you back in time to explore the lives of generations of the Dalrymple family, as well as significant international events throughout history.Walk through the principal floor at your own pace, linger in the rooms, and take in the amazing art and architecture. Visit our 1720s kitchen area and then exit the house via the servants’ tunnel.If you would like to learn more about the house and the estate, volunteers will be available to answer any questions.Meeting pointMeet at the main house. A member of our team will welcome you and provide you with additional information.AccessibilityPlease note that there are several flights of stairs and so the house may not be fully accessible for people with mobility issues.Is there parking available?Yes. There is a £5 parking charge. Members enjoy free parking, with a valid car parking sticker.
