A free, dog-friendly makers market at Haddington Corn Exchange with around 38 local stalls, a full bar, knife sharpening on the door and a ticketed biscuit decorating workshop in the afternoon.
Haddington Corn Exchange fills with around 38 makers for this one, all local and all selling the handmade: ceramics, jewellery, textiles, woodwork, prints, candles, millinery, homeware and plenty besides. There's a full bar in the main hall, so it's an easy couple of hours to browse and buy.
The Knife Guy sets up at the main entrance to sharpen knives and tools while you shop. In the back room, Kate from Blinkbonnie Biscuits runs a summer-themed biscuit decorating workshop from 1pm to 3pm: six biscuits, four colours of icing, all materials provided and no experience needed. That one is ticketed separately and booked through Blinkbonnie's own site.
Entry is free, dogs on leads are welcome, and the main hall and foyer are step-free via ramps at the main entrance. Worth knowing the workshop biscuits contain wheat, egg and milk and are made in a kitchen that also handles nuts.
