Tranent's town gala since 1934: free activities for younger children, crowning at 11.30am, and the main gala from 12.30pm to 4pm on Ross High School Playing Fields, with paid rides for older children.
Tranent's much-loved gala day, a town tradition since 1934. Free fun for younger children including a bouncy castle, slide, climbing wall, face painting, mini disco, arts and crafts, mascots and races for all ages, plus a £2 gala bag with a toy. White-knuckle rides for older children (Waltzer, Twister, Miami, and a new Freak Out Air Wolf) at £3 each or 7 rides for £21, along with a Ferris wheel, merry-go-round and inflatables. The crowning ceremony takes place at 11.30am in Ross High School's assembly hall (moved from the Loch Centre), with gala day itself from 12.30pm to 4pm at Ross High School Playing Fields.
