Gullane · Links
Home to the championship No.1 alongside the much-loved No.2 and No.3, with links that roll along Gullane Hill above the Firth of Forth.
Gullane is not one course but three, all true links running around and over Gullane Hill, and between them they cover every kind of golfing trip. No.1 is the championship test, an Open Final Qualifying venue of 6,873 yards with some of the finest green complexes and turf on the coast, and views from the plateau that reach across the Forth on a clear day. No.2 and No.3, both Willie Park Jr designs, are anything but consolation prizes: No.2 is a genuine test at 6,385 yards, while the shorter No.3 rewards accuracy and sharpens the short game on greens every bit as slick as its bigger siblings.
For visitors the practical difference matters. No.1 restricts visitor tee times, while No.2 and No.3 are open without time restrictions, and the two-course and combination tickets are quietly some of the best value on the Golf Coast. The village of Gullane sits at the foot of the courses with Muirfield, Luffness New and Archerfield all within walking or short driving distance.
Visitors are welcome on all three courses. No.1 has restricted visitor tee windows; No.2 and No.3 carry no time restrictions, which makes them the realistic option for flexible plans. Practice balls are included in the green fee, juniors under 18 play for half price, and the dedicated Visitors' Clubhouse has full locker and shower facilities. Full payment is taken at booking and the courses do not normally close for wind, so pack accordingly.
Gullane publishes one of the clearer dress codes in the county. Golfing attire is required for all players: no denim jeans, t-shirts, cargo or combat trousers and shorts, tracksuits, or rugby and football shirts, on the course or in the clubhouse at any time. Tailored shorts are allowed in both. Hats come off in the clubhouse, and flip-flops or sandals without socks are not permitted. The Visitors' Clubhouse by the No.2 and No.3 first tees allows soft spikes.
No.1 round £285 weekday, £325 weekend. No.2 from £100 and No.3 from £70. Three-course combination ticket from £390. Juniors half price.
Prices checked July 2026 and may change; confirm with the club when booking.
