The Borders Ultra Challenge

The Borders Ultra Challenge brings the Ultra Challenge Series to Scotland for the first time in 2027! This exciting new double-marathon format is a real adventure, and we’re encouraging as many participants as possible to take on the Full Challenge. Starting in Berwick-upon-Tweed, just south of the Scottish border in England, the 84km route heads around this historic town before following the spectacular Berwickshire Coastal Path through Eyemouth and St Abb’s Head. A welcome halfway stop awaits at marathon distance, before the route continues towards Dunbar and inland from John Muir Country Park to the finish line in the delightful seaside town of North Berwick. With Marathon and 10-mile options also available, there’s a Borders Ultra Challenge for everyone!
