Lodestar – Bach to Folk: performed by Lodestar Trio, Erik Rydvall (Swedish nyckelharpa), Olav Mjelva (Norwegian hardanger fiddle), Max Baillie (Violin and mandolin) playing Music by Bach, Olav Mjelva, Dvorák, Erik Rydvall, Bartók, Max Baillie, Couperin and others at Holy Trinity Church, Haddington on Thu 10 Sept 10pm as part of the Lammermuir Festival. An exciting collaboration between Scandinavian folk music stars Erik Rydvall and Olav Mjelva, and British-German violin virtuoso Max Baillie, Lodestar combines the Swedish nyckelharpa and Norwegian hardanger fiddle with the violin. In this unique programme they bring a spirit of groove and improvisation to Baroque music with their own re-imagined versions of music by Bach, Couperin, Lully and Merula plus traditional and contemporary Nordic tunes.
