Mozart and Macmillan Clarinet Quintets: performed by Maximiliano Martin (Clarinet), Maxwell Quartet playing Prokofiev; String Quartet No 2 in F major Op 92; Maxwell Quartet Scottish Folksings; MacMillan; Tuireadh; Mozart; Clarinet Quintet in A major K581 at Crichton Collegiate Church, Crichton on Sun 20 Sept 11am as part of the Lammermuir Festival. In 1988 a North Sea oil rig caught fire and 167 men were killed. The Piper Alpha disaster was the world's worst offshore oil and gas accident and James MacMillan's Tuireadh (Lament) is a searingly moving tribute to those who died. The balm of Mozart's sublime Clarinet Quintet ends the concert.
